Thunder Football version 25.3.0.9 is the start of season 32-bit server and client release. This release includes support for importing 1080p Osprey Recorder media content, enables users to push User Folders to the cloud without Gameplans, qualifies Windows 11 25H2, and resolves a variety of bugs and performance issues.
We echo last year’s guidance and continue to require all servers and clients running Thunder 25 to be on Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019 or 2022. These operating systems include essential security updates and improved compatibility with Thunder 25, especially concerning video playback and performance. After upgrading the Operating Systems, we recommend the following steps:
- Run the available Dell Command Updates (take the graphics driver updates if on Thunder 2022 and newer)
- Run the Restricted User Setup Tool
- Confirm the Catapult Power Plan is configured correctly
- If applicable, confirm the Intel Graphics Settings for Thunder are set
Thunder Client Only, Full Install without SQL, Full Install including SQL

Known Issues
- Users may encounter intermittent file read errors, please eject and reload the edit.
- Users may see intermittent performance issues after extended use on 4k monitors. Please reduce the display resolution to 1080p for optimal playback performance.
- Users may notice intermittent flashing during media transitions.
- If users have "Disable Audio" checked, voiceovers will not align.
- Clicking restart on the Transcode Queue will intermittently cause Thunder to crash.
- Thunder may crash if it is connected to a secondary display and the user turns the secondary display on or off with Thunder open.
- Some reports may not open after upgrading, install the Thunder Prerequisites if this issue is experienced.
-
The Media Service may intermittently restart.
- The team is investigating this.
-
On a Windows 11 Standalone Machine, the Client Transcode Queue Tool does not populate, but the assets are successfully pushed.
- Users can view the queue via the Catapult Transcode Queue Tool on the Desktop.
- If users select "Include Audio" for Tentacle Time Code AVCHD Import, audio will bleed through from the right channel into the source media in Thunder. More info on Tentacle Time Code.
- Due to a NETBIOS character limit, a name longer than 15 characters causes the xosadmin user to fail, resulting in Sync failures.
-
We have seen longer import times for AVCHD Content (in Travel Mode and Connected to Server) due to anti-virus scanning.
- More information on resolving this issue using the Restricted User Tool is here.
- The Hotkey "Ctrl + Shift + 0" is a default Windows Hotkey so Color Tag #20 does not function properly.
- Users may encounter a playback issue with 1080p media imported from an Atomos device
