The Catapult Thunder Sync Checker is a Windows utility designed to help video coordinators identify and resolve synchronization issues with the Catapult Thunder system. It provides three key diagnostic and repair functions, each accessible through a dedicated tab:
Which tab do I need?
Symptom
Tab
Current user can't sync / file share errors
Server Credential
Machine was in travel/offline mode, user can't sync
TravelMode
Want to take a Local DB Backup / SQL errors in logs / nobody on machine can sync
SQL
Tab 1 — Server Credential (Current User)
Checks/repairs Windows Credential Manager entries for the Thunder server.
Enter the server name (e.g. cat-r350). Leave username/password blank for standard checks.
Click Check Credential (Current User).
In the results table, look at Credential Found and Probe Result.
YES + Success → healthy, no action needed.
NO → credential is missing.
If missing: uncheck Use default username/password, enter correct credentials, click Fix Credential. Re-run the check to confirm.
The Fix button only activates when a missing/invalid credential is detected.
Tab 2 — Travel Mode (All Users)
Travel Mode = 1 in the registry forces offline mode — Thunder won't sync even with connectivity. This tab finds and resets it across all profiles.
Must run as Administrator. Click Restart as Administrator if prompted.
Click Scan TravelMode (All Users).
Any user showing TravelMode = 1 needs fixing.
Click Fix TravelMode (Set to 0) — updates all affected profiles at once.
Re-scan to confirm. Status should read: "TravelMode is OK for all users."
Tab 3 — SQL (Localhost)
Tests local SQL connectivity and provides DB backup/reset tools.
Fields auto-populate. Click Test Connection to verify — you'll see the SQL Server version on success.
