Thunder Hockey version 24.2.1.1 is a recommended client build and optional server build. It includes various bug fixes as well as the ability to simultaneously network capture locally and to the server.
If your team is interested in taking the server upgrade, please schedule time with support HERE. This is a shorter server upgrade with no publication reset needed.
We continue to strongly recommend upgrading all clients and servers running Thunder 24 to Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019. Please contact support to assist with backing up your DB and uninstalling Thunder and TC Services on your server before upgrading to Windows Server 2019.

Bug Fixes
- Resolved a variety of crashes including:
- A memory leak that eliminates a crash and decreases the amount of decode errors.
- Note: The Decode Error prevents a crash and allows users to save work before closing and relaunching Thunder. There will still be instances of the decode errors in this build.
- A crash that occurred during repeated use of the Hockey Clip Copy Utility Tool.
- A memory leak that eliminates a crash and decreases the amount of decode errors.
- Fixed an issue that caused all Game Plans to be set to Priority 1 in the Transcode Queue Tool.
- Note: This fix requires a server upgrade.
- Resolved an issue on Dell Precision 3590 machines that disabled the playlist toolbar after outputting an edit to .mp4.
- Added logic to automatically retry finalizing capture if there is a failure in order to avoid "File in Use" error
Known Issues
- During a Voiceover, if a user fast forwards or rewinds, the original audio will start playing.
- During a Voiceover, the user should wait approximately 2 seconds while the icon is orange before speaking, or the starting audio may be cut off.
-
On a Windows 11 Standalone Machine, the Client Transcode Queue Tool does not populate, but the assets are successfully pushed.
- Users can view the queue via the Catapult Thunder Queue Tool on the Desktop.
- Due to a NETBIOS character limit, a name longer than 15 characters causes the xosadmin user to fail, resulting in Sync failures.
-
We have seen longer import times for AVCHD Content (in Travel Mode and Connected to Server) due to anti-virus scanning.
- More information on resolving this issue via the Restricted User Tool can be found here.
- The Hotkey "Ctrl + Shift + 0" is a default Windows Hotkey so Color Tag #20 does not function properly.
- Some reports may not open after upgrading, install the Thunder Prerequisites if this issue is experienced.
