Steps:
- Uninstall current version of Symantec Endpoint Anti-Virus
- Control Panel – Programs and Features – Uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection
- Once SEP AV is uninstalled you MUST restart Computer
- Install updated version of SEP AV
- Select Unmanaged Client

- Select Custom installation

- Select Standard-size client

- Deselect Application and Device
- Deselect Network Threat Protection

- After installation Run LiveUpdate for latest AV Definition
- After updating, SEP AV must be configured
- Configure SEP AV
- Double Click SEP AV in Sys Tray
- Change Settings
- Virus and Spyware Protection - Configure Settings

- Select “Auto-Protect” tab
- Deselect “Scan files on remote computers”
- Click OK to confirm settings

- Client Management - Configure Settings

- Select “LiveUpdate” tab
- Set Frequency and Time to Daily at 5:00 AM
- Deselect “Randomize the start time to be + or – (in hours):”
- Click OK to confirm settings

- Add XOS AV Exceptions
- Double Click SEP AV in Sys Tray (if not already open)
- Change Settings
- Client Management - Configure Settings

- Select “Tamper Protection” tab

- Deselect “Protect Symantec security software from being tampered with or shutdown”
- Click OK to confirm settings
- Deselect “Protect Symantec security software from being tampered with or shutdown”

- Locate and double click the “Sym Exclusions x64 09-01-2015.reg” file

- Click Yes on the Registry Editor Warning.
- Re-enable “Protect Symantec security software from being tampered with or shutdown”

- Exceptions – Configure Settings

- Verify exceptions have been added
-
- File extensions Exceptions added below:
