Description: The following is a guide on how to install or upgrade to a newer version of Thunder Client
Steps:
Uninstall Current Thunder Client (Skip if fresh install)
- Right click the windows start button in the bottom left corner and select the top option “Apps and Features”
- Search for Catapult Thunder > Select it> select uninstall > then select uninstall from the popup (Older versions may be listed as XOS Thunder)
- After some time the uninstall wizard will popup where you will want to select Remove

- *Note* - During the uninstall you may get prompted that some files are in use and it will require a reboot to continue. If you get this message you can continue through that prompt and it will not require a reboot of the machine.
- Click Finish once uninstall is complete and continue on to the Install portion below
Install Thunder Client
- Confirm what version of thunder client to install and get a copy of the installer
- If you have another machine running Thunder already on the proper version, you can right click on the exchange agent and go to About in order to find what version the customer is running.

Run the Thunder installer of choice > Once the installer window is loaded, select the proper sport & Install type > Select Next
- Asset Management Service - Used for Asset Management servers that only house media and not a main Thunder database
- Client - Client machines connect to a database server in order to utilize the Thunder Edit Station and Coaching Station. This is the most common install for coaches and video coordinators. Thunder Clients connect to the Database Server via SQL Server Management Studio.
- Server - Used for Database server or Combo servers. The Database server houses a teams main Thunder database which contains all of the Thunder software data
- Stand Alone - Standalone machines give the same functionality as a client install, however they do not connect into a server. They house their own Thunder database locally with all of their data on it
- Install types:

For Client and Stand Alone installs continue on, for Server and Asset Management Service installs go to the Server install/upgrade doc
- Create XOSAdmin user account - Enabled by default and used for cross authentication with the server. You always want this enabled unless you have another user already setup on the server side that does this job
- Enable ThunderCloud - Enable if you have ThunderCloud
- Check boxes:
- Once checkboxes are set properly click install
- Once install completes click finish. It will prompt you to reboot the machine which it is advised to do.
Exchange Agent (Only available for client install type)
- In the bottom right corner of your screen in the task bar, you will see Exchange Agent (See picture below for reference). Right click > Select options > Go to the Replication tab

After Server/Client Upgrade: drop and create your local subscription
- Select Yes to the first prompt and No to the second prompt
- It may take a minute or so in some cases to drop, when done it will give you a popup telling you it dropped and you can then click OK to acknowledge it
- It may take a minute or so in some cases to create, when done it will give you a popup telling you it created and you can then click OK to acknowledge it
- Drop your local subscription by pressing the Drop button in the Subscription Controls section
- Create your local subscription by pressing the Create button
- Client upgrade is now complete

After Fresh Install: enter replication settings and create a new subscription

Enter Exchange Agent Information
- Local subscription - Gets added in by default based on the local computers name, no need to adjust
- Publisher - Put in the name of your database server and hit Enter to add \coachingsolns

- *Note* - Exchange Agent settings are saved to your windows user profile. If you log into a different windows user then you will have to enter this information into exchange agent again in order to use thunder

Create your local subscription by pressing the Create button
- It may take a minute or so in some cases to create, when done it will give you a popup telling you it created and you can then click OK to acknowledge it
- Fresh thunder install complete
