Import Slide Fails Without an Error

Issue: Can't import slides

When importing PowerPoints, it looks as if everything is working correctly, but then does nothing and provides no error

List of Symptoms

• Insert slide reaches end of loading bar and never adds file to edit
  
  

Expected Behavior

Slide should be placed in edit

Cause of Issue

• Office settings are set to block PowerPoint 97-2003 Presentations, Shows, Templates and Add-in Files

Resolution or Troubleshooting Steps:

1. Open PowerPoint
2. Select Options
   
3. Trust Center (1) and then Trust Center Settings (2)
   
   
   
4. Select File Block Settings on the Left and uncheck both options for PowerPoint 97-2003 Presentations, Shows, Templates and Add-in Files then press OK. If the options are greyed out, you'll need to contact your systems administrator to change the settings
   
5. Attempt to import slides again and it should succeed.
