Issue: PPT Slides Launch In PPT Viewer Instead Of Thunder

PPT slides slides launch in PowerPoint Viewer instead of the Thunder media player regardless of having 32 bit PowerPoint installed and Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer.

Cause of Issue:

The root cause of this issue is the result of Compatibility Mode being enabled in the settings of Thunder2.exe and thunderbootstrap.exe within the Thunder directory.

 Troubleshooting Steps:

To resolve the issue of PPT slides launching in PPT viewer instead of Thunder follow these steps.

1. Head to the Thunder directory which is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\XOS Technologies\Thunder.
2. Once in the directory locate the Thunder2.ex, right click and then hit properties 
3. In the properties select the compatibility option, then select "change settings for all users". 
4. Disable compatibility mode and then apply the changes.  
5. Next locate the Thunderbootstrap.exe in the Thunder directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\XOS Technologies\Thunder).
6. Select Thunderbootstrap.exe, right click and then hit properties. 
7. In the properties select the compatibility option, then select "change settings for all users"
8. Disable compatibility mode and then apply the changes.

   

9. Once these changes have been made you will no longer have the issue of PPT slides slides launching in PowerPoint Viewer instead of the Thunder media player. If Thunder was open when these changes were made please make sure to close and relaunch the application.
