Thunder Hockey Remote Logging Tool
What is it?
The XOS Remote Logging Tool (RLT) allows users to log clips outside of Thunder. It’s most often used as a method to log individual player shifts.
Thunder Setup
- Create your lines for the game through Tools 🡪 Logging 🡪 Hockey Line Editor
- Export the RLT file
- Navigate to Tools 🡪 Logging 🡪 Export Clip Types and Field Data
- Keep the file name RemoteLoggingTool.xml and save it to your desktop or an external drive (if the RLT will be run on a different computer)
Modes
Offline Mode
- Allows users to log clips while not connected to the Thunder network or capture client
- Data is saved to an XML that can be imported to a Thunder master
Connected Mode
- Allows users to log clips while connected to the capture machine through an LAN network or peer to peer connection
- Clips logged in the Remote Logging Tool will appear on the master clip during capture
- Clips logged in Thunder will have the Player Participation column populated with players on ice in RLT
- Data is still saved to an XML so that in can be imported to a master if necessary
Offline Mode Setup
- Launch the RLT
- Click on the button next to Output File and name the XML file that you’ll use for import
- We recommend a unique name for each XML
- Rather than Period 1 use GM01 Period 1
- In the Remote Host section click the Work Offline button and select the RemoteLoggingTool.xml that you created from Thunder
- A new Output File must be created for each period
Connected Mode Setup
- Launch the RLT
- Click on the button next to Output File and name the XML file that you’ll use for import
- We recommend a unique name for each XML
- Rather than Period 1 use GM01 Period 1
- In the Remote Host section type in the IP address of the capture machine and click Connect
- Each machine must have a static IP address (it cannot be assigned via DHCP)
- You can connect Peer to Peer by connecting one Ethernet cord to the computers directly
- The RLT must be restarted in between each period in order to properly work in Connected Mode
