DESCRIPTION:
How to do a Publication Reset on Database Servers
Publication Resets help improve the time to enter Travel Mode. When you open Manage Travel Folders, you will be prompted if the publication needs to be reset.
*IMPORTANT* Make sure your coaches have returned from travel mode and synced back any offline work before doing a Publication Reset. If any coaches are in travel mode, then will not be able to sync back. Export and import and edits as a XIMP to import back into the network
After the publication, you will have to drop and create all subscriptions.
SOLUTION:
Publication Resets are done in the Cloud Settings Manager on the Database Server.
STEP 1:
Locate your database server and navigate to the desktop. Open the Cloud Settings Manager from the desktop shortcut
STEP 2:
Double click on CloudSettingsManager. The application will prompt you to log in. Contact XOS Support for the password to enter here
STEP 3:
Once you are logged in to CloudSettingsManager locate the publication box and select "Full remove". (See pic below)
This will gray out your options for "Create" "Drop" and "Full Remove" until the current Publication is fully removed. This should take anywhere between 5 and 30 minutes on average.
STEP 4:
After the full remove is completed select "Create" next to publication status. When the server is done creating the new publication the dot next to publication status will be illuminated green. At this point the publication reset is complete.
