All Thunder clients must be returned from Travel Mode

All users should exit Thunder and should not attempt to run Thunder until full credentials update process is complete

Changing SQL Credentials (Thunder LAN Server or Standalone)
1. Launch SQL Admin User Utility
- Login with existing SQL Admin credentials
- You now have the option to change the user and/or password
Option 1: Change User
1. Type in new SQL User Name
2. Type in new Password
3. Click Save
4. Navigate to previous SQL Admin User in SQL Management Studio

- Security → Logins
5. If previous SQL Admin User was “SA”

- Right-click “SA” user → Properties → Status
- Set Login to Disabled

Click OK
-
6. If previous SQL Admin User was NOT “SA”
-
-
Right-click user → Delete
-
Must be deleted individually from each database as well as under Security -> Logins

Option 2: Change Password
1. Type in an existing SQL User Name
2. Type in new Password
3. Click Save
2. Reboot of system is recommended at this point
3. Launch Cloud Settings Manager on Thunder LAN Server

- Verify Cloud Settings Manager launches successfully
- If the saved SQL credentials are invalid to login to the Server, the following error will be displayed (with the current SQL Username in place of “SA”)
- Verify Cloud Settings Manager launches successfully

- Verify expected SQL Admin User name is displayed at the bottom of the tool
Changing SQL Credentials (AMS Server)
1. Pre-requisite
- The parent Thunder LAN Server name must have been set accurately during the AMS Server install process
- NOTE: To re-parent an AMS Server to a different Thunder LAN Server at a future date, a re-install is required to reset the server name via this installer prompt
2. Run SQL Admin User Utility on AMS Server

Follow same instructions from step #1 of Thunder LAN Server section

Use same credentials as set on Thunder LAN Server
3. Verify Installation Check Tool launches successfully

If the saved SQL credentials are invalid to login to the AMS Server, the following error will be displayed (with the current SQL Username in place of “UserName”)
Changing SQL Credentials (Backup & Recovery Server)
1. Run SQL Admin User Utility on Backup Server (credentials should match Primary Server)
- Follow same instructions from step #1 of Thunder LAN Server section
- Use same credentials as set on Thunder LAN Server
2. Verify Thunder Backup Job runs successfully
- Launch Cloud Settings Manager on Primary Server
- Ensure “Enable Thunder Backup Job” is checked and “Backup Machine Name” is set to name of the Backup Server
- Click Run Thunder Backup Job
- Wait for job to complete
- Verify job completes successfully via SQL Management Studio

SQL Server Agent → Jobs → ThunderMediaBackup → right-click → View History

Changing SQL Credentials (Client)
1. Run SQL Admin User Utility on all Clients
- Follow same instructions from step #1 of Thunder LAN Server section
- Use same credentials as set on Thunder LAN Server
2. Reboot Clients
3. If this is a brand new install, ensure Exchange Agent is configured
- Open the Exchange Agent UI
- Set the Publisher to the Thunder LAN Server name (replace “ServerName” with the Thunder LAN Server name)
- Click OK
4. Verify Exchange Agent launches successfully
- If the saved SQL credentials are invalid to login to the Server, the following error will be displayed:
- Unable to login to SQL "ServerName" with User SA. Verify in SQL Management Studio that the user exists on "ServerName" and the password is correct. Please use the SQL Admin User Utility on "ServerName" to create/update the user as needed.
- If the saved SQL credentials are invalid to login to the Client, a version of the following error(s) will be displayed:
- Unable to login to SQL Server localhost with User SA. Verify in SQL Management Studio that the user exists on localhost and the password is correct. Please use the SQL Admin User Utility on localhost to create/update the user as needed.
- Unable to login to SQL Server localhost (currently in Travel Mode) with User SA. Verify in SQL Management Studio on localhost that the user exists, is enabled, and the password is correct. Please use the SQL Admin User Utility on localhost to create/update the user as needed.
- If the Server is not available, the following error will be displayed:
- Unable to login to SQL Server ServerName. The server is unreachable.
Restoring a Thunder LAN Database to a new Server
1. Pre-requisite
- New Server without Thunder installed
2. Restore SQL database backup on new Server
3. Run Thunder Server installer
- If credentials match between the database backup and the new Server, nothing will be reported to the user
- If the SQL Admin User saved in the database backup does not exist on the Server, the SQL Admin User will be automatically created and the user will be alerted that "SQL User UserName created successfully".
- Previous SQL Admin User may need to be manually disabled/deleted
- Follow same instructions from section "Option 1: Change User" steps #4-6 in Thunder LAN Server section
- Previous SQL Admin User may need to be manually disabled/deleted
- If the SQL Admin User saved in the database backup exists on the Server with a different password, the SQL Admin User’s password will be automatically updated and the user will be alerted that "SQL User UserName updated successfully".
4. Verify ability to launch Cloud Settings Manager
- Follow same instructions from step #2 of Thunder LAN Server section
