Beginning with Thunder 25, users have the ability to exclude the TV Copy from three key workflows: LAN to LAN Surge, Self Surge (Download Server Media to Selected Volume), and Manage Assets. This allows users to decouple the TV Copy from other primary angles during the surge process, saving time and storage space.
LAN to LAN Surge
- Launch Thunder
- Select "Tools" then "Surge"
- Select "Edit or Delete Media Set"
- Double click on an edit or selected media set
- Click the "Exclude TV Copy" checkbox to the right of "Enforce Expiration Date?" checkbox
- Select "Save" to add more media to the Surge Set or "Distribute" if Surge Set is complete.
Self Surge (Download Server Media to Selected Volume)
- Launch Thunder
- Navigate to edit that will be used in Self Surge
- Right click selected Edit and select "Download Media to Selected Volume"
- When Surge Distribution Dialog box pops up, select the "Exclude TV Copy" radio button
- Select "Finish"
Manage Assets
- Launch Thunder
- Select "Tools" and then "Manage Assets"
- When Manage Assets Dialog box pops up, select the "Exclude TV Copy" option beneath the "Action" and "Source" columns
- Select the Asset Management Volume you'd like to surge to and ensure there is available space. If there is no space, select an alternative drive or remove items from the selected volume.
- Hit "Close."
Additional Notes
- TV Copy can only be excluded from a Media Surge Set if it exists as a separate file. CCMs will not work.
- The Exclude TV Copy Workflow does not include the ability to resolve GSIS Data to a separate TV Copy.
