Adjusting the Limit 8 M4 to desired network properties
- The Limit 8 M4 comes standard with a static IP of 10.1.1.131. To adjust the IP address, connect your PC directly to the Limit 8 M4 via Ethernet connection and adjust the IP address of your PC network adapter to 10.1.1.100 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.
- Once adjusted, you should now be able to access the web user interface of the Limit 8 M4 device by typing the IP address, 10.1.1.131, in a web browser.
- Once you access the login page, use the default credentials of admin for the username and admin for the password
- Once logged in, navigate to the System option on the left hand side of the UI. From here you can Toggle DHCP if desired or change the Static IP of the Limit 8 M4 to match your network scheme.
- Once desired settings are in place , select the Save button
- At this point you will lose connection to the Limit 8 M4 and will need to set your PC network adapter to an IP which matches the Limit 8 M4’s new network scheme. Once adjusted, you should be able to access the Limit 8 M4 using the new IP address implemented.
Encode Settings
- Once logged into the Limit 8 M4 web user interface, select the Encode option on the left hand side of the UI
- Under the Overall config section toward the top of the screen, you can adjust the settings for all encoding inputs. For both Main stream and Sub stream, select the following….
- Video Size - 720p
- Codec - H.264 High
- Rate Control - VBR
- Bitrate - 5500
- Framerate - 60
- GOP(sec) - 0.50 (Equates to a 30 GOP)
- Sync - close

For Audio Config select the following...
- Codec - AAC
- Source - Default
- Gain - +0dB
- Samplerate - 48K
- Channels - Stereo

Bitrate (kb/s) - 128
- To Disable Audio select the following...
- Audio Config
- Codec - Close
- Select Apply to all
- Hit Save at the bottom
- Audio Config
- Select "Apply to all" and you should see a message in the upper right hand corner stating "Config saved successfully"
- Scroll to the bottom of the Encode Page and toggle the "Test Loop" to OFF and the "Multi-Viewer" to ON
- Select "Save" and you should see a message in the upper right hand corner stating "Config saved successfully".
- Select the "Video Config" tab in the center of the Encode Page
- Under Full framerate deinterlace, toggle the setting to ON for all SDI channels
- Under NTSC Compatible , toggle the setting to ON for all SDI channels
- Select "Save" and you should see a message in the upper right hand corner stating "Config saved successfully"
Decode Settings
- Select the Decode option on the left hand side of the UI
- Toggle "Video Decode" and "Audio Decode" to OFF
- Select "Apply to all" and you should see a message in the upper right hand corner stating "Config saved successfully"
Stream Settings
- Select the Stream option on the left hand side of the UI
- Under the Overall config section toward the top of the screen, all Protocols should be toggled to OFF beside RTSP for Main Protocol
- Select "Apply to all" and you should see a message in the upper right hand corner stating "Config saved successfully"
Push Service Settings
- Select the Push service option on the left hand side of the UI
- Under the push config section, toggle all platforms to OFF
- Select "Save" and you should see a message in the upper right hand corner stating "Config saved successfully"
Output Settings
- Select the Output option on the left hand side of the UI
- Toggle both the HDMI Output and SDI enable to ON
- For both HDMI and SDI outputs, select the following settings...
- Resolution - 720P60
- Rotate - 0
- Mirror - Off
- Video Source - Multi-Viewer
- Low Latency - Off
- Video Proc - Unity
- Luminance - Default level
- Black Level - Default level
- Saturation - Default level
- Hue - Default level
- Select "Save" and you should see a message in the upper right hand corner stating "Config saved successfully"
Multi-Viewer Settings
- Select the MultiViewer option on the left hand side of the UI
- For channel, select Multi-Viewer from the dropdown menu
- For layout, select 2x2 from the dropdown menu
- For layout config, select SDI-1, SDI-2, SDI-3 and SDI-4 in the 4 available video windows. Order from SDI-1 starting at the top left
***Power Cycle the Limit 8 M4 Encoder, log back in and confirm all settings outlined in this document are accurate***
