Gridiron 1.7.1.483, Focus Server 9.4.300.22472, and Focus Live 8.3.479 are strongly recommended updates for all Practice users. This release includes several updates to practice workflows including auto-closing open tags when a period or camera assignment is changed as well as restoring the active period if Gridiron is closed and reopened during the session. This build also contains a variety of critical bug fixes and performance improvements.
Important note: The Gridiron and Focus Server updates are intended for practice systems ONLY. Teams using Focus Live for In Game Video should keep their Gameday systems on the latest Gameday Gridiron and Focus Server versions. However, all users, regardless of whether they’re using Focus Live for Practice or Gameday, should update to Focus Live 8.3.479.22468.
The complete build matrix for this practice release is below:
- Gridiron: 1.7.1.483
- Focus Server: 9.4.300.22472
- Focus Live: 8.3.479.22468 (Available in App Store)
Gridiron
New
- Gridiron will now automatically close any open tags before switching to a new period.
- This prevents tags from being left open indefinitely if they’re not closed before a period change.
- Gridiron will now automatically close an open tag when a drill’s camera assignment changes in the middle of a period.
- When closing and reopening Gridiron during an active session, the previously active period will reload, rather than the first period in the plan.
- When users attempt to export to a drive that isn’t mounted, a pop-up message will appear: “Export failed. Unable to export to [drive destination]. Check export destination and try again.”
- When users select “Start Session” in the GTool, a pop-up message will appear: “Are you sure you want to start session in [GAME/PRACTICE] mode?” Users need to confirm by selecting “OK” before the session begins.
Bug Fixes
- Resolves a variety of performance issues, including disconnects between Gridiron and Focus Server, app hangs or freezing, and occasional crashing.
- Resolved a clip creation issue caused by clips less than one second in duration. Gridiron will now ignore clips that are one second or less.
- Resolves a bug caused by asterisks, special characters, or white spaces in a session’s name.
- Resolved a bug that intermittently caused flags to disappear from iPads.
- Verified that hot keys for Start, Stop, Snap, End, and Cancel align with the Tag Template button state (i.e. if the Start button on the tag template is disabled, then the hotkey for Start is also disabled).
- Resolves several export-related bugs, including:
- A silent export error when the angles in the Plan tab do not match the angles in the Export tab.
- Clips missing from the export tab.
- Plays excluded from the Export list were included in Continuous and Continuous Extended exports.
- Instances of transcode on export.
Focus Server
